Terms of Service
Last updated July 8, 2026
These terms govern your use of Baby Buddy Companion (“the app”), an unofficial, open-source native client for the self-hosted Baby Buddy server, published by Kurtis Guy (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The app is unofficial
The app is an independent client and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Baby Buddy project or its maintainers. “Baby Buddy” refers to the open-source server project; this app is a separate third-party client for it.
Licence to use the app
The app’s source code is released under the MIT License, available in the project repository. Your use of the app distributed through the App Store is additionally subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
You provide your own server
The app requires a Baby Buddy server that you host and operate. You are solely responsible for your server, its configuration and security, and for backing up your data. We do not provide, host, or maintain any server on your behalf, and we are not responsible for data loss, downtime, or issues arising from your server.
Optional support purchase
The app includes an optional in-app purchase for people who want to support maintenance and development. It does not unlock or change any features.
- Support purchases are consumable tips. You may choose to make them more than once; they do not auto-renew and there is nothing to cancel.
- The purchase is billed through your Apple App Store account. The price is shown at the point of purchase.
- Apple and RevenueCat handle purchase processing and receipt validation as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with App Store policy; we cannot issue refunds directly.
Not medical advice
The app is a tracking and record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, health, or professional advice. Do not rely on it for medical decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding the health of your child. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any data you record.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and not to misuse it, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access data or systems you are not authorised to access.
“As is” — no warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, reliability, availability, or accuracy. Your use of the app is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the app.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
